Starting the game
-
Opening hand: 7 cards
-
First turn: the team that plays first does not draw a card
-
Mulligans: each team shares three free mulligans. Any player on the team can use them; for example, one player could take two and a teammate one.
When a player is eliminated
-
Everything they own leaves the game with them: their permanents, even ones another player controls, and any of their spells or abilities still on the stack.
Attacking planeswalkers
-
Any player may attack any player's planeswalkers.
Countering spells
-
Wing vs. the opposing Emperor: a Wing may counter the opposing Emperor's spell only if it directly affects that Wing's life total or a permanent that Wing controls.
-
Example: the opposing Emperor casts a pump spell on their own Wing's creature. You can't counter it, because it doesn't directly affect you.
-
-
Emperor vs. the opposing Wing: an Emperor can't counter a spell cast by the opposing Wing when it targets the Emperor's own Wing, or a permanent that Wing controls.
